Eastern Column face
OUR DEAR DORY 2nd Block Eastern Face

| Large triple-sized ground ledger (246.5 L x 450 cm W x 19 cm raised
off ground). Curbing (15 cm border) is grey granite. On curbing top in SE corner is 'MOTHER'
and 'THEODORE' in relief. There is step in center of eastern curbing on top of block is 'FATHER'
in relief, while vertically is 'ADEN' in relief. All lettering is deep and no wear is resident.
Ledger top is cement recessed 4-5 cm from curbing top. Ledger top has 4 large sectional cracks
running W to E. Mounted in ledger top at western end is a white bronze monument (162 cm height). Base is 63.5 x 62 cm x 23 cm high). 1st block is 42.5 x 42 x 12.5 cm high. On the eastern face in relief is 'ADEN'. All other sides are plain. 2nd block (36 x 36.5 x 20 cm high). Inscription is on S, W, N faces. On the E face is the figure of a lamb. Column is a 26.5 x 27 cm angling up to 14 cm sq. There is an inscription on the E face only. On all 4 faces is rose flower motif at base. Column has numerous hair-line cracks running from corners. Monument is topped with a 4 sided triangle. No other damage visible. | |||
