Supporting the Old Cemeteries Society of Victoria
- Ross Bay Row Marker Project
- Roster of the 'Fifty-Eighters' in BC - and other publications by OCS.
- Queries - The Old Cemeteries
Society Research Committee will respond to queries and conduct limited research.
- Make a Donation - Your support for
preserving our old cemeteries and increasing public awareness of their
heritage value is important. Your donation is tax deductible and a receipt
will be given for tax purposes.
- Become a Member - As a member of the Society,
you will receive the following:
- A subscription to our newsletter
- The opportunity to participate in the society's work through various committees and projects
- The right to vote at the annual general meeting
- Discounts on searches of the Society's database of burial records for Ross Bay Cemetery, queries and walking tour prices
- Invitations to special events
- Membership: Adult $30/yr; Student $20/yr; Household $45/yr.
- Volunteer for OCS
- List of Volunteer Positions
- Office Help Committee: helping
with office and admininstrative tasks:
- Tour Committee: offering help on
special walking tours and school tours;
- Conservation Committee: cleaning and preserving gravestones and monuments;
- Finance Committee: fundraising (focused on perimeter security for Ross Bay Cemetery);
- Adopt-a-Row Project: recording the grave markers in Ross Bay Cemetery, including location, orientation and all engraving. Each volunteer does a row at his or her own pace.
